The crew of H.M.S. Pinafore busily prepares their ship for voyage. Josephine, the captain’s daughter, loves a lowly sailor, Ralph Rackstraw — but, to please her father, plans to hide her love from Ralph and marry a rich lord instead. Little Buttercup, who sells trinkets to the sailors, carries her own secret, which promises to upset the orderly ranks of the ship’s crew. Engagements, elopements, and England are entangled in this hilarious maritime caper, one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s best beloved operettas!
