ABOUT

A woman rifles through memories of her disappeared mother, who she is convinced threw herself off the cliffs north of town, into the sea. A puppet sets out on a long ocean voyage to a mountain rising from the waves, and climbs above the clouds. Three strangers shift cyclically through a mythic fabric of trios: The Fates, the Holy Trinity; beginning, being, and ending.

These stories run parallel but never cross—each another refraction of the gulf between the individual and a sense of belonging. Through a collage of found texts, puppetry, unworldly soundscapes, physical theatre and myth, this devised ensemble production explores the terrifying moment of disconnect between the individual and society in the suicidal act, and how, perhaps, to connect across that distance.

This production deals heavily with themes of suicide and loss that viewers may find upsetting.
