Welcome Class of 2013

The HRDC extends a warm welcome to Harvard College's Class of 2013. The HRDC is the umbrella group for undergraduates involved in theater at Harvard, and we are set to host a series of events for everyone interested in theater at Harvard this Fall. Highlights from the full schedule are Common Casting--a week of auditions for nearly every show going up in the Fall 2009 semester--and Tech Week, and week of a workshops highlighting the technical opportunities available across campus.

Before either common casting or tech week, you can come see the HRDC Board--and many other student groups, besides--at the Student Activities Fair on Wednesday, September 2. Members of the board will be on hand to discuss theater at Harvard, and how much might get involved either academically or extracurricularly.

On Friday, September 4, the HRDC will host a movie night for all its current membership as well as freshman interesting in meeting older member informally. Movie night promises to be fun and low key -- a great way to meet older actors and technicians in order to speak with them about their experiences with Harvard theater, all while watching a great film.

On Monday, September 7, we will host an information session about Common Casting; everything you need to know about auditions will be covered in a Q-and-A session with board. Immediately folllowing the info session is our semi-annual Pizza-Q; grab a slice of pizza, a cool soda, and talk to the directors and producers for many of the Fall 2009 shows about how you might get involved in their project!

Auditions will start Tuesday, September 8, and run through Friday, September 11. Then, in the week that follows, workshops in technical theater--for those new to tech theater, those who have done nothing but tech theater, and everyone who falls somewhere in the middle--will be offered in the Loeb Drama Center. Check back over the summer for a complete schedule.
